Course Descriptions

IMA 6001, 6002, 6003: The Imagination Process™ Healing Intensive - Transpersonal group therapy utilizing the creative arts of drama, writing, poetry, movement, sound, and transpersonal psychospiritual processes such as meditation, breathwork, yoga, body psychotherapy and the healing and transformation of trauma. Drama Therapy modalities included are psychodrama, sociodrama, improvisation, transformational theater, dramatic ritual and ceremony, musical theater, storyplay theater and more. There are 3 phases/courses of work, Imagine, Inspiration and Intuition.

IMA 6006 First Imprints: Womb, Birth and Breath with Shamanic Breathwork Lab Experiential - The study of pre and peri-natal psychology: the psychological effects and implications of the earliest experiences of the individual, before birth (prenatal), as well as during and immediately after childbirth (peri-natal) as major impact/imprint in shaping the personality and future psychological development of an individual. The laboratory requirement for this course includes an introduction to Shamanic Breathwork™.

IMA 6007 Inner Child Studies/ Trauma and the Brain Introduction to dysfunctional family systems, behavior patterns, imprints, trauma and wounding through the archetype of the inner child; students experience the discovery of their own inner child and learn application of clinical skills and methods/techniques for healing and transformation of family of origin pain and trauma.

IMA 6012 Imagine Recovery: Addiction/CoDependency Studies - A transpersonal approach to the healing and transformation of addictions; students are introduced to Imagine Recovery™ - a program for healing addiction which incorporates creative arts therapies with Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey and the 12 Recovery Steps used in anonymous programs. Topics include: the craving brain/biologically altered brain research; addictions assessment, treatment goals, counseling strategies and techniques; healing shame and guilt; addiction as a spiritual void.

IMA 6010 Hidden Meaning of Illness - A fascinating study of the body/mind connection; exploring science, medicine and spirituality; emotional causes of illness; psychoneuroimmunology and imagery for getting well.

IMA 6011 Parenting and Re-Parenting: Discovery and Creation of A Family Culture
Introduces students to the concept of creating a unique family culture, discovering, exploring, integrating and blending families of divorce, re-marriage, different ethnicities, same gender parents, adoption, single parents and any combination of the above.

IMA 6005 Transpersonal Coaching Skills -
Methods and skills for working with individuals as a Transformation Life Coach; transpersonal perspectives and belief systems; alchemy and altered states work; processing skills and techniques.

IMA 6013 Universal Spiritual Principles and the Cosmos - The study of spiritual law, universal spiritual principles and truths as discovered and handed down through the ages in philosophy, religion, higher education, spirituality, healing and transformational practices.

IMA 6008 Intimacy Without Responsibility™ - This course explores relationship and marriage as a dance of transference/counter-transference; a developmental perspective relating partner’s history to present health of relationship; influences of womb, birth, trauma on relationship, marriage, family and children; coaching techniques and practices for building relationship, intimacy, commitment and consciousness loving. Lab: Intimacy Without Responsibility Seminar or Weekend Workshop.
IMA 6011A - Shamanic Breathwork™ Studies Academic and transpersonal study of the breathwork as a depth healing modality; altered states; consciousness; bodywork; evocative music; ethics; spiritual emergency; Linda Star Wolf’s Shamanic Breathwork Process; Grof’s perinatal birth matrix; therapeutic effects of breathing and the healing power of music.

IMA6011B - Imagine Breathing Workshop/Shamanic Breathwork Practicum (9 Breathwork Processes): Deep breathing combined with evocative music, allowing one access to the depth levels of consciousness - the sensory, biographical, perinatal and transpersonal bands of consciousness.(Grof, The Holotropic Mind, 1990.)

IMA 6009 Soul Writing - Introduction to the therapeutic methods of creative writing – journaling, poetry, prose and dialogue. Students will discover and explore various prompts and exercises, which evoke conscious writing as a healing and transformational practice; writing as a gateway to the psyche, a personal healing tool for self and client.

IMA 6014 Shamanic Studies - The study of shamanism; medicine wheel, spiritual guides; death and rebirth principles; cycles of change; medicine helpers; honoring the ancestors; soul retrieval, shamanic journeying.

THR 7010 Improvisation and Theater Lab - Improvisation skills, methods, games, warm ups, professional theater.

IMA 6016 - Becoming A Creative Propreneur with Money Grows On Trees - Visioning and Creating a Passionate Life Business as a Transformation Coach; Exploring beliefs and core issues about money; Applying the Law of Attraction for success and abundance.

DRT 6708 Creative Arts Therapies - Examination of creative arts therapy modalities: drama, art, poetry, writing, dance/movement, sound and music.

DRT 6706 Psychodrama/Sociodrama - Study of the theory and practice of psychodrama (individuals, couples, families, groups) and sociodrama (exploring issues of organizations, communities, education, political contexts) as therapeutic tools for learning, personal growth, and transformation.

IMA 6004 Group Dynamics - Exploring the dynamics of group therapy; examination of basic theories, objectives, components of group process; skills and strategies for integrating group process with music, art, poetry, sound, movement. Lab Experience through The Imagination Process™

SSW 9000 Shamanic Egyptian Mysteries I, II
Awakening the Healing Power of the Heart; learning about the various gods and goddesses of Egypt and experience 26 initiations; a modern interpretation of the ancient wisdom of the Old Kingdom; connecting to our divine nature.

SSW 9001 The Mandala Process - Study and experience of working with the mandala, coming from the Sanskrit word meaning “sacred circle” ; a psychological model for spiritual, physical and emotional health. C.G. Jung uses Mandalas as a way of accessing the deep, original language of the psyche for healing of mental and emotional illness.

DRT 6709 Transpersonal Ethics - Focus upon ethical standards and legal issues related to transpersonal and transformational coaching, especially as applied to the creative arts, altered states work and transpersonal perspectives.

DRT 6712 I, II, III, IV Supervised Clinical Practicum Students apply their training in an internship over the course of the program (minimum of 2 semesters) under supervision; emphases upon case formulation, the coaching relationship, and the development of skills.
